Trade - Technology Architect

**Responsibilities**:

- Executes the architectural vision for all IT systems through major, complex IT architecture projects; ensures that architecture conforms to enterprise blueprints.
- Develops technology road maps, while keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies, and recommends business directions based on these technologies.
- Provides technical leadership and is responsible for developing components of, or the overall systems design.
- Translates complex business problems into sound technical solutions.
- Applies hardware engineering and software design theories and principles in researching, designing, and developing product hardware and software interfaces.
- Provides integrated systems planning and recommends innovative technologies that will enhance the current system.
- Recommends appropriate desktop, computer platform, and communication links required to support IT goals and strategy.
- Exhibits good knowledge of how own specialism contributes to the business and good understanding of competitors products and services.
- Acts as an advisor or mentor to junior team members.
- Requires sophisticated analytical thought to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations.

**Key Responsibilities**:
The Architect Specialist will be responsible for:

- Providing support for the Design Charter Governance Process (architecture review process)
- Provide a mix of enterprise and solutions architecture support for projects and clients across international regions
- Work with multiple regions to promote reuse and leverage of existing assets
- Following SDLC processes and artifact development mandates for architecturally significant projects
- Provide metrics and reporting to senior management, engineering and architecture audiences
- Participate in enterprise wide architecture governance initiatives
- Drive early de-risking (including R&D, build vs buy analysis) to accelerate engineering processes

**Person Specification**

**Knowledge/Experience**:

- 15+ years of within Technology - At least 5 years’ experience in working as an Architect
- Able to independently develop metrics, perform analysis, and report to all levels
- Strong influencing and follow-up ability; Monitoring and escalating when required
- Strong attention to detail, yet able to summarize, highlight, and report exceptions/drivers/root cause
- Strong process management; able to review and enhance process for efficiency and effectiveness with little guidance
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and DevOps/CI CD process
- A clear understanding of best in class architectural practices or methodologies using ToGAF and UML experience
- Exceptional influencing skills and preferred experience working across many areas and levels of an organization to manage expectations
- **Required**:

- Strong functional understanding of the Global Trade and /or Financial industry
- Distributed infrastructure (Openshift/Docker Kubernetes ,API Gateway APIM, Knative/Serverless)
- Internet and Mobile technologies such as JavaEE, MicroService, SpringBoot, Angular /React JS framework
- Middleware technologies (Workflow BPM/RHPAM, ESB/FuSe, Messaging AMQ/Kafka/RabbitMQ)
- Data storage using MongoDB, BigData/DataLake, Caching Couchbase/Redis
- **Desired**:

- Architecture experience in Citi or other related banking industry role
- Agile methodology experience (knowledge as a minimum) and SaFe certification as optional
- Architecture governance experience such as IT Strategies, Technology and Application Roadmaps, Application Portfolio Management, Technology Standards Management
- Experience using External cloud providers such as AWS or Azure and Snowflake and exposure to Blockchain/DLT technologies and HyperLedgerFabric.
