**Your role**
- The role is within the Equity Operations function, working within the EMEA Cash Equity Controls team. The team's primary objective is to provide a control layer across various Cash Equity trading desks, with the aim of mitigating risk and maintaining transactional integrity. The role requires a good understanding of various equity markets. The team has daily interaction across a wide stakeholder base, partnering with Group Finance, Group Risk, Group Technology and other Operation utility service teams.

- We’re looking for a Middle Office Specialist to:
- Be responsible for a suite of controls, facilitating support aimed at mitigating risk and working with other MO functions to resolve escalated issues
- Ensure timely, and accurate, processing of reconciliation requests.
- Interact and leverage relationships with other Operations teams such as Trade Support, Settlements, Finance, Reg Reporting, Market Risk, COO, Group Technology and Change.
- Increase RFT (Right First Time) by continuously monitoring and improving the Systemic and Behavioral root causes across FO, IT, and Ops.
- Increase STP (Straight through Processing) rate of all products by actively engaging IT and Ops Change teams. Take an active role in digital transformation initiatives
- Collate evidence and materials for various governance forums.
- Manage and escalate the operational risk of controls run by the onshore and offshore teams
- Participate in front to back operating committees, production calls to ensure dependencies to our processes are understood, our performance is assessed, and key risk areas are managed in accordance with our risk appetite
- Partner with sales and trading to manage and facilitate new business initiatives

**Your expertise**
- 2 - 5 years of experience in a similar operational risk and control function, financial services background would be a plus- Ability to consistently perform and deliver timely reconciliations and controls
- Great at problem analysis and resolution: identify and examine problems in order to understand them, generate options and recommend solutions which are logical, reasonable and realistic
- Proven risk assessment, fostering a zero tolerance policy for poor integrity and risk taking
- Clear communication style and escalation awareness
- On top of industry and market driven initiatives, such but not limited to automation and digitization, to understand risks and their impacts
- Good partner, collaborator across functions to deliver strategic projects and change
