**Job Summary**

As a Fashion Designer cum Merchandiser, you will play a vital role in the fashion industry by combining your creative design skills with your knowledge of merchandising and marketing. You will be responsible for creating appealing and marketable clothing designs while ensuring they align with the brand's overall strategy and target audience.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and create innovative designs for clothing, accessories, or footwear that are in line with the brand's aesthetic and target market.
- Research current fashion trends, market demands, and consumer preferences to create designs that are fresh and appealing.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities and create designs that cater to the target audience's needs.
- Collaborate with the production team and suppliers to ensure the feasibility of designs in terms of materials, cost, and production timelines.
- Source and select fabrics, trims, and materials for production, considering quality, cost, and availability.
- Create design sketches, technical drawings, and prototypes to communicate design concepts and specifications to the production team.
- Collaborate with the merchandising team to develop product assortments, pricing, and promotional strategies that drive sales and meet customer demands.
- Participate in product presentations and meetings with clients, buyers, and vendors to discuss design concepts, production capabilities, and pricing.
- Stay updated with industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes to keep the brand competitive and relevant.
- Monitor the production process to ensure the designs are executed accurately and maintain quality standards.
- Oversee the merchandising process, including inventory management, order placement, and coordination with suppliers and production units.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of designs and product lines to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing materials and campaigns that effectively promote the brand and its products.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Fashion Designer cum Merchandiser or a similar role in the fashion industry.
- Strong artistic and creative abilities with an understanding of design principles and trends.
- Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Solid knowledge of merchandising and marketing principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a critical eye for quality.
- Ability to adapt to changing market trends and consumer preferences.
- Familiarity with garment construction techniques, fabric properties, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of retail operations and sales strategies is a plus.
