**Responsiblities**
- Ensures that the unit is ready for the shift functioning at the beginning of every shift
- Ensures that the equipment and supplies including medications are ready for the before shifts
- Prepare the room/bed for receiving the baby (Labour room / OT)
- Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records about the nursing care provided and patient responses to care and treatment, including medications
- Administer medication, calculate doses and maintain current knowledge of medication.
- Assists the baby with Invasive BP, VAC, UVC, Exchange transfusion, ventilation parameters, non-invasive ventilation parameters, CPAP/HFNC settings and others
- Assisting or hands-on experience in procedures like CPAP/HFNC, intubation, initiating ventilation, securing central lines, and ABG sampling.
- Care and assisting or hands-on experience baby’s with warmer, phototherapy & incubator
- Care and assist the mother for feeding /EBM
- Conducting tele rounds involving patient review, daily rounds, review of labs and radiology, drug charts, and protocol compliance.
- Identifying changes in the infant's symptoms and intervening in emergencies.
- Keeping and tracking records for vital signs like temperature, pulse, breathing, oxygenation and blood pressure and any signs of distress due to birth asphyxia and trauma, respiratory distress, apnea, aspiration, sepsis, shock etc., in critically ill Newborns.
- Care of baby’s with HFNC, Bubble CIPAP and ventilators, setting the ventilator parameters according to the patient’s respiratory status with constant monitoring of the patient.
- Prepares patients and assist for procedures like ROP, examinations and treatment
- Care of critically ill newborn baby
- Care and assists the neonatologists by assessing a baby’s needs and providing initial neonatal care
- Identify changes in a newborn signs and symptoms and intervene in emergent situations
- Differentiate between normal and abnormal physical findings
- Administer medication using age-appropriate guidelines
- Monitoring fluid and electrolyte balance
- Meeting nutritional and elimination needs
- Monitoring pressures through transducer lines.
- Proper economical use of equipment and supplies, inform proper authority of discrepancies.
- Baby weight checking and Assess the baby for weight loss and escalate
- Collecting blood samples - ABG, CBG, Venous Blood
- Keeps abreast of changing techniques in critical care nursing and maintains a high level of expertise in critical care.
- Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions
- Monitors record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions and escalate for further plan of care
- Ensures that all investigation reports are collected and reported on time to the concerned physician for treatment decision
- Reports high alert investigation results to the sister in-charge and seeks medical help for prompt action and record the interventions done
- Endorse patients to other units with stabilized vital signs.
- Seeks medical assistance and ensures that it is provided
- Prepares patients and their family for discharge and home care if any to continue
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹38,000.00 per month
