**Role Definition**:
Executes the the planning, coordinating, governing and reporting procurements participation in the NPI process.
**Responsibilities**
- Providing leadership for the NPI activities within procurement, including select sources taken from the category strategies and resource management decisions.
- Monitoring and reporting NPI progress, holding NPI & design teams accountable for meeting quality and timeliness of requirements, and to assist the product group in managing procurement related capital.
- Working closely with operations and product development in creating a supply chain for a new product.
- Researching and assessing existing and potential suppliers; making recommendations on supplier selection.

- Provides input for Gantt or PERT charts or their equivalent to track project progress and status.
- Under guidance, plans and estimates simple projects.
- Assists in detailed project plans including cost, schedule, and resource requirements.
- Obtains information from stakeholders during the planning stage of a project.
- Produces standard project status reports.
New Product Development (NPD): Knowledge of methodology, processes, and strategies of new product development; ability to develop an effective new product development (NPD) strategy and process to generate a range of products, services, and value propositions aligned with the organization's overall marketing and business strategy.
**Level Working Knowledge**:
- Analyzes and documents the performance of the organization's current portfolio of products, services, brands, and value propositions.
- Assists in conducting business analysis of new products.
- Implements a clear set of annual NPD priorities, based on the NPD strategy and the performance of the current product and service portfolio.
- Researches key market and customer trends about competitor product offerings.
- Utilizes idea generation exercises across the business for the NPD process to achieve organizational buy-in.
