A BIM (Building Information Modeling) Certified Electrical Modeler is responsible for creating and managing digital models of electrical systems within buildings and infrastructure projects using BIM software. Here is a typical job description for a BIM Certified Electrical Modeler:Responsibilities:
1. Develop detailed 3D models of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and other electrical components, using BIM software (such as Autodesk Revit, Bentley Systems, or ArchiCAD).

2. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and incorporate electrical design intent into the BIM models.

3. Ensure accurate representation of electrical systems within the BIM environment, including the placement of electrical equipment, fixtures, conduits, cable trays, and other related components.

4. Coordinate electrical systems with other building elements, such as architectural, structural, and mechanical components, to avoid clashes and conflicts.

5. Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date 2D drawings, schedules, and reports derived from the BIM model, including electrical layouts, panel schedules, and equipment lists.

6. Perform clash detection analysis to identify and resolve conflicts between electrical systems and other building systems.

7. Collaborate with the design team to implement electrical design changes in the BIM model and ensure their integration across the project.

8. Extract relevant information from the BIM model to support electrical design reviews, coordination meetings, and construction planning.

9. Assist in the coordination and integration of BIM models with other project-related software and tools, such as electrical load analysis, energy modeling, and cost estimation.

10. Stay updated with the latest BIM software advancements, electrical design standards, and industry best practices related to electrical systems modeling.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

2. Certification in BIM software, such as Autodesk Revit Certified Professional or equivalent, is required.

4. Strong knowledge of electrical systems design principles, codes, and standards, including electrical distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.

5. Familiarity with electrical equipment, fixtures, conduits, cable trays, and related components used in building construction.

6. Experience with electrical load calculations and analysis within the BIM environment.

7. Understanding of construction documentation and ability to create accurate 2D electrical drawings, schedules, and reports.

8. Knowledge of industry-specific protocols and standards for electrical systems modeling and coordination, such as IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) and COBie (Construction Operations Building Information Exchange).

9. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and integrity of electrical systems within the BIM models.

10. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within multidisciplinary project teams.
