**Job Summary**:
The ASME Authorized Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) during the design, fabrication, testing, and certification of boilers, pressure vessels, and related components. The inspector serves as a third-party representative to verify that products are manufactured according to code requirements and the authorized Quality Control program.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform inspections of boilers, pressure vessels, and components per ASME Code Section I, VIII, and other applicable sections.
- Review and verify design documents, material certifications (MTCs), welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder qualifications (WQR).
- Monitor in-process fabrication activities, including fit-up, welding, heat treatment, and NDE (non-destructive examination).
- Witness hydrostatic and other pressure tests as required by the code.
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and record-keeping aligned with the ASME Code and authorized quality program.
- Interface with fabricators, engineers, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance.
- Sign off on Manufacturer’s Data Reports (Form U-1, P-1, etc.) and issue National Board numbers where applicable.
- Conduct audits and periodic surveillance of quality control systems to maintain ASME certification.

**Qualifications**:

- **Required Certification**: Valid commission from the **National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBIC)** as an **Authorized Inspector (AI)**.
- **Education**: Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (preferred).
- **Experience**: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pressure vessel or boiler fabrication, inspection, or QA/QC.
- Strong understanding of ASME Code Sections I, IV, VIII (Div. 1 & 2), IX, and B31.1/B31.3 piping codes.
- Familiarity with materials, welding processes, NDE techniques, and shop fabrication standards.
