**Description**:
**Patient Care**:

- Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including those with life-threatening conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, and multi-organ failure.
- Perform medical procedures like intubation, central line insertion, arterial line placement, thoracentesis, and ventilator management.
- Assess and stabilize critically ill patients in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

**Diagnosis and Treatment**:

- Evaluate patient conditions, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans using advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
- Continuously monitor patient responses to treatments, adjust therapies as necessary, and manage any complications that arise.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration.
- Work closely with other medical specialists, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, discussing patient cases, treatment strategies, and outcomes.

**Family Communication**:

- Communicate complex medical information clearly to patients' families, discussing prognosis, treatment options, and goals of care.

**Education and Training**:

- Provide education and training to medical students, residents, fellows, and ICU staff on critical care practices and procedures.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in critical care through continuous learning and attending relevant conferences or courses.

**Administrative Duties**:

- Assist in developing and implementing ICU protocols, policies, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient records, including clinical notes, medication plans, and progress reports.

**Qualifications**:

- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Expertise in mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced life support techniques.
- Ability to work with advanced ICU technologies and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex and unpredictable situations.

**Work Environment**:

- Full-time position primarily based in the hospital’s ICU.
- Rotating shifts, including night and weekend shifts, as critical care often requires 24/7 coverage.
