**Job Description: Senior Azure Architect - Cost Assessment Specialist**

**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:
**1. Azure Advisor Recommendations**:

- Utilize Azure Advisor to analyze customer environments and provide personalized recommendations for cost optimization.
- Implement best practice recommendations to improve resource efficiency and eliminate waste.

**2. Azure Well-Architected Review**:

- Conduct reviews of workload architectures against the Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework.
- Document findings and identify areas for improvement that can lead to cost reductions.

**3. Azure Hybrid Benefit**:

- Advise customers on leveraging the Azure Hybrid Benefit to reduce compute costs.
- Assist in migrating on-premises licenses to Azure, optimizing licensing costs.

**4. Reservations and Savings Plans**:

- Evaluate workloads for suitability for Azure Reserved VM Instances and Savings Plans.
- Recommend and implement reservations and savings plans for predictable workloads to achieve significant cost savings.

**5. Azure Spot Virtual Machines**:

- Identify suitable workloads for Azure Spot Virtual Machines to take advantage of unused capacity at reduced costs.
- Implement spot instances where appropriate, ensuring alignment with workload flexibility.

**6. Azure Dev/Test Pricing**:

- Guide customers in utilizing Azure's special pricing for development and testing environments to save costs.

**7. Cost Management Tools**:

- Utilize Microsoft Cost Management tools to provide detailed cost analysis and reporting.
- Integrate third-party platforms for comprehensive cloud cost management, including cost allocation and anomaly detection if necessary.

**8. Kubernetes Cost Management**:

- Deploy and manage Kubecost for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to optimize costs at the deployment, namespace, cluster, and service levels.
- Provide recommendations based on external cloud and infrastructure metrics to achieve deeper cost insights.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Azure Architect with a focus on cost optimization.
- Strong understanding of Azure services, pricing models, and cost management tools.
- Experience with the Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework.
- Proficiency in using Azure Advisor, Azure Cost Management, and third-party cost management tools.
- Knowledge of Azure Reserved VM Instances, Savings Plans, and Spot Virtual Machines.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and cost management solutions like Kubecost.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

**Preferred Certifications**:

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Cost Management Specialist (if available)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent.
