**Position Overview**:
A Bharatanatyam performer is responsible for expressing stories, emotions, and cultural narratives through the classical Indian dance form, Bharatanatyam. This role involves performing in cultural events, festivals, and shows, as well as teaching and choreographing Bharatanatyam pieces.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Performance and Choreography**:

- Perform Bharatanatyam at cultural events, festivals, and stage shows.
- Choreograph original Bharatanatyam pieces for performances and students.
- **Teaching and Mentorship**:

- Conduct classes for beginner to advanced-level students.
- Provide guidance on techniques, mudras (hand gestures), expressions (abhinaya), and footwork.
- Offer mentorship and prepare students for exams or stage performances.
- **Cultural Promotion and Preservation**:

- Promote the art form through workshops, seminars, and cultural outreach programs.
- Collaborate with organizations to preserve and modernize Bharatanatyam while maintaining its traditional essence.
- **Rehearsals and Practice**:

- Dedicate time to rehearsals to refine techniques and maintain physical fitness.
- Regularly practice to stay updated with evolving styles and techniques.
- **Administrative and Creative Work**:

- Manage event schedules, performance bookings, and student registrations.
- Design costumes, music arrangements, and props for performances.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Technical Expertise**:

- Formal training in Bharatanatyam from a recognized institution or Guru.
- Strong grasp of mudras, abhinaya, footwork, and rhythmic patterns.
- **Performance Skills**:

- Ability to engage and captivate audiences through storytelling and expressions.
- Stage confidence and adaptability to diverse performance settings.
- **Teaching Ability**:

- Experience in training students of varying age groups.
- Patience and effective communication skills.
- **Passion for the Art Form**:
