**Position Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Photographing Nature Subjects**:

- Capture high-quality images of wildlife, plants, landscapes, and weather events in their natural habitats.
- Specialize in particular areas (e.g., wildlife, birds, insects, forest landscapes, or oceans) or offer a broader range of nature photography.
- Utilize both field photography and studio settings to document various aspects of nature, using specialized equipment such as long lenses, macro lenses, or wide-angle lenses.
- **Editing and Post-Processing**:

- Organize and archive photographs efficiently, maintaining a digital portfolio of the work.
- **Planning and Research**:

- Research and scout locations, including natural reserves, parks, and remote areas, to find the most visually appealing and untouched environments.
- Monitor weather conditions, migration patterns, and the availability of wildlife to plan shoots effectively.
- **Client Work and Commissions**:

- Collaborate with clients (e.g., magazines, nature publications, conservation organizations, tourism boards, and environmental NGOs) to fulfill specific photographic needs, such as advertising, marketing, and editorial content.
- Deliver high-quality images in various formats for print, digital, and social media platforms.
- Attend photo shoots as part of a team or independently, ensuring the client’s vision and expectations are met.
- **Promote Environmental Awareness**:

- Capture images that highlight conservation issues, biodiversity, and the impact of climate change, aiming to raise awareness about environmental protection.
- Share work through social media platforms, exhibitions, and photography competitions to promote both personal and environmental causes.
- **Maintenance of Equipment**:

- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair photographic equipment, including cameras, lenses, tripods, and other accessories.
- Stay knowledgeable about the latest photography tools, techniques, and environmental-friendly practices in the field.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Experience**:

- Proven experience in nature photography, with a portfolio that demonstrates high-level skills in capturing landscapes, wildlife, or other aspects of nature.
- Experience working with different camera systems (DSLR or mirrorless) and specialized lenses (wide-angle, telephoto, macro).
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in using post-processing software (Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Capture One, etc.) to edit and enhance images.
- In-depth knowledge of photographic techniques such as exposure settings, composition, light, and depth of field.
- Familiarity with drone photography and aerial shooting is a plus.
- **Knowledge of Nature**:

- Strong understanding of natural environments, wildlife behavior, and ecosystems.
- **Creative and Artistic Ability**:

- Strong creative vision with the ability to compose visually compelling images.
- Keen eye for detail, lighting, and composition.
- **Physical Fitness**:

- Ability to hike, travel to remote locations, and work in diverse and sometimes challenging environments.
- Comfort with potentially harsh conditions (weather, terrain, long hours) when capturing outdoor shots.
- **Communication Skills**:

- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, conservation organizations, and collaborators.
- Ability to describe your work effectively and promote environmental awareness through your photography.
- **Education**:

- A degree in photography, environmental science, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
- Workshops, certifications, or courses in nature photography or wildlife conservation are advantageous.

**Working Conditions**:

- **Location**: Fieldwork in outdoor environments, including remote, natural locations (forests, mountains, deserts, etc.). Some work may be done in studios or offices for editing and client meetings.
- **Travel**: Frequent travel, both local and international, may be required to access various nature reserves, national parks, and other photographic destinations.
- **Hours**: Flexible, with occasional long hours required, especially during golden hours (early mornings and late afternoons), or when capturing specific wildlife behaviors.

**Salary**:

- Varies based on experience, portfolio, and whether the position is freelance or full-time. Freelance nature photographers may have fluctuating income depending on commissions, licensing deals, and other work.
