** - This position is based in Manatuto-Manufahi (1), Ainaro-Covalima (1)**
The Driver is responsible for operating and maintaining Conservation International (CI) vehicles in good condition, ensuring compliance with all safety and traffic regulations, and supporting logístical operations at both office and field sites.
Fleet management duties include providing and/or arranging transportation for Cl staff and guests in a timely, safe, and responsible manner. They ensure Cl vehicles are routinely serviced, maintained in a clean and tidy manner, and all vehicle licenses, inspections, insurance, etc. comply with local vehicle licensing and operations requirements. The driver ensures the proper use of vehicles, maintains logbooks and/or maintenance manuals, and performs routine maintenance and repairs as necessary
** RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide prompt and reliable transportation with safely for Cl staff and visitors. Arrange for alternative transportation as needed.
- Provide support for the implementation of project activities in designated field sites and coordination's in Dili.
- Follow assigned schedules and routes, ensuring punctuality and reliability.
- Coordinate vehicles use and maintain logbooks and vehicle register.
- Ensure that all vehicles have current licenses, inspections, insurance, etc, appropriate to their use and in compliance with local laws.
- Ensure the vehicle is regularly serviced and maintained in good working conditions.
- Conduct daily checks on vehicle condition (fuel, oil, water, brakes, tires, etc.).
- Keep the vehicle clean, both inside and out, at all times.
- Report any mechanical issues or accidents immediately to the supervisor and operations team.
- Perform routine maintenance and small repairs as needed.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials for field activities.
- Follow all traffic laws and organizational driving policies.
- Always Ensure passenger safety (seatbelt use, appropriate driving speed, etc.).
- Respect and maintain confidentiality of project activities and personnel.
- Submit on-time monthly reports and cash requests/acquittals to the supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
** WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Frequent travel to remote locations is required.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside of normal work hours for any additional office events.
** QUALIFICATIONS**
** Required**
- High School or Secondary School education and literacy skills.
- Up to 2 years of experience as a driver and overseeing fleet or vehicle maintenance schedules.
- An active driver's license/qualifications that are recognized in the assigned country.
- Clear understanding and ability to follow the operations process.
** Preferred**
- Experience working in an NGO and a clear understanding and ability to follow operations process.
