**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Customer Service**:

- Greet and welcome customers as they enter the store.
- Assist customers in finding products and provide product information.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
- Offer advice and recommendations on products to enhance customer satisfaction.
- **Sales and Transactions**:

- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions securely.
- Promote ongoing sales, promotions, and loyalty programs to customers.
- Achieve individual and store sales targets.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Assist in receiving, unpacking, and organizing new inventory.
- Ensure shelves and displays are fully stocked and well-organized.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the manager.
- Participate in regular stocktaking and inventory audits.
- **Store Maintenance**:

- Maintain a clean and tidy store environment.
- Organize and arrange merchandise displays to attract customers.
- Ensure product pricing and signage are accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist in setting up promotional displays and seasonal decorations.
- **Team Collaboration**:

- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store goals.
- Support colleagues during busy periods and provide assistance as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- **Security and Loss Prevention**:

- Follow store policies and procedures to prevent theft and ensure the security of merchandise.
- Report any suspicious activity or incidents to the store manager.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle transactions accurately.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying merchandise.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Familiarity with retail POS systems.
- Knowledge of the store's products and industry.
- Multilingual skills are a plus.

**Work Environment**: This role typically operates in a retail store environment with shifts that may include weekends, evenings, and holidays. The Shop Assistant may be required to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
