Furniture designers are responsible for the look and feel of the furniture we use every day. They’re tasked with creating new pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional, while also ensuring that these designs can be mass-produced at a reasonable cost.

Furniture designers must have an eye for detail and an understanding of human anatomy and physiology. They must also be able to work well in a team environment—they rely on engineers, woodworkers, fabricators, etc., to help bring their ideas to life.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Design and develop new furniture concepts in response to market trends, customer needs, and company objectives
- Research and analyze design trends, materials, production methods, and historical precedents
- Generate sketches, 3D models, and illustrations to communicate design ideas
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams to refine designs and ensure feasibility of production
- Select furniture finishes, fabrics, and hardware based on aesthetic, functional, and safety requirements
- Prepare detailed specifications for production, including dimensions, construction methods, materials, and finishes
- Manage projects from concept through delivery, ensuring that designs are executed flawlessly
- Conduct quality assurance testing to verify that products meet all safety and performance standards
- Monitor customer feedback and modify designs accordingly
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments
- Attend trade shows and visit showrooms to view new products
- Bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design or related field
- Bachelor’s degree in furniture design, industrial design, or related field
- 3-5 years professional experience in furniture design
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Rhino, 3ds Max, or similar software
- Strong portfolio of previous work
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

**Preferred Skills and Qualifications**
- Degree in furniture design.
- 5-10 years professional experience in furniture design
- Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software
- Experience with woodworking, metalworking, and other fabrication techniques
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment

**Salary**: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month

- Mumbai, Maharashtra: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Furniture design: 3 years (preferred)
