Gautam Budh Nagar, India TAKSH GROUP Full time

**Substation maintenance**
**Location:

- NSEZ**
**Experience:

- 3+ years**

Key Maintenance Areas
- **High-Tension (HT) and Low-Tension (LT) Systems**: Maintenance involves all equipment on both the high-voltage (primary) and low-voltage (secondary) sides of the substation. This includes regular inspection, testing, cleaning, and repair of:

- **Transformers**: Checking oil levels and quality (sampling and testing), winding temperature indicators, cooling systems (fans/pumps), and general body condition.
- **Circuit Breakers and Switchgear**: Inspecting, testing (e.g., contact resistance, timing tests), and lubricating the mechanisms of HT (like VCBs, SF6) and LT breakers.
- **Isolators and Switches**: Checking for proper mechanical operation, alignment, and contact wear.
- **Protective Relays**: Testing, calibration, and function verification of relays to ensure they trip correctly under fault conditions.
- **Panels**: General inspection and cleaning of HT and LT control and distribution panels.
- **Cable Termination and Jointing**: A crucial part of the job involves inspecting and maintaining cable installations, including:

- Ensuring the tightness of all power and control wiring connections and terminations to prevent overheating.
- Checking the condition of cable boxes and glands.
- Performing cable fault location and repair (including jointing) as needed.
- **UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) Systems**: While not a primary power distribution component, substations rely on battery and charger systems for control, protection, and emergency backup power to operate critical equipment like relays and communication systems. Maintenance includes:

- Regular inspection, cleaning, and monitoring of battery cell voltages and specific gravity.
- Checking the battery charger condition and the overall health of the UPS system.
- **DG (Diesel Generator) Sets**: In many substations, DG sets are essential for emergency/standby power. Maintenance tasks include:

- Routine trial runs (e.g., daily/weekly) to ensure operational readiness.
- Checking fuel and oil levels, cooling systems, and general engine maintenance.
- Ensuring proper operation of changeover switches and associated control circuits.

General Responsibilities
- **Inspections**: Conducting routine visual inspections and using diagnostic tools like thermal imaging to identify potential issues.
- **Testing**: Performing various electrical tests (e.g., insulation resistance, earthing resistance) and documenting results.
- **Troubleshooting & Repair**: Diagnosing complex electrical issues and performing corrective maintenance to restore functionality quickly.
- **Safety & Compliance**: Adhering strictly to safety protocols (e.g., lockout/tag-out procedures, proper PPE) and ensuring all equipment and procedures comply with relevant standards and regulations.
- **Documentation**: Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and test results for compliance and asset management.
- **Emergency Response**: Being available for call-outs and responding quickly to faults and failures to minimize downtime

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
