Proposal Writer

As a Proposal Writer, your primary responsibility is to research, write, and submit compelling proposals to secure funding from various sources. To succeed in this role, you must effectively convey the organization's mission and goals while also understanding the priorities and requirements of potential funders.
- You will collaborate with the fundraising team and thematic teams to create tailored proposals that align with the organization's strategic priorities, outcomes, and impact. Through this process, you will integrate pertinent information into the proposal narrative to enhance its appeal to potential donors.
- This position is ideal for individuals who take ownership of their work, prioritize results, and have a demonstrated ability in helping organizations secure the necessary funding to achieve their mission and create a positive impact in their community.

**What you’ll do**:

- Understanding of the organization: Strong ability to study and comprehend the organization's history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs
- Research skills: Proposal Writers must have proficiency in researching grant opportunities for the organization's thematic areas from diverse sources, including Punjabi Diaspora, CSR, Foundations, and Individuals
- Proposal writing: Expertise in drafting grant proposals and accompanying documents that align with the organization's funding requirements is essential
- Proposal approval and management: A Proposal Writer must have the capability to present proposals to the fundraising team for approval and respond to internal and external queries regarding the proposals. You must also be able to maintain accurate records and submit reports related to grant opportunities
- Compliance and reporting: A Proposal Writer must ensure that all grant proposals are compliant with the funding source's guidelines and requirements and that all grant reporting is completed on time and accurately
- Donor relationships: Responsible for maintaining relationships with funders and donors which involves attending meetings and events, networking with potential partners and stakeholders, and cultivating relationships to secure future funding opportunities

**Who we’re looking for**:

- A bachelor’s degree with 2-5 years of experience in proposal writing or fundraising
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner especially in grant proposals, as this would be a primary duty
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify relevant funding opportunities
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and time-zones
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Prior knowledge of fundraising information sources is desirable
