**Job Title**: Import-Export Documentation Specialist
**Job Summary**:An Import-Export Documentation Specialist is responsible for managing and facilitating the paperwork, records, and compliance related to the import and export of goods. They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and legal movement of products across international borders.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Document Preparation**: Prepare and review various import and export documents, including invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations. Ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
**Customs Compliance**: Stay up-to-date with import and export regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements. Ensure that all shipments are in compliance with customs requirements to avoid delays and penalties.
**Regulatory Compliance**: Monitor and adhere to trade laws and regulations, including import/export licenses and permits, trade sanctions, and trade agreements. Assist in obtaining necessary permits as required.
**Record Keeping**: Maintain organized and accurate records of all import and export transactions. This includes documenting all shipping and receiving activities, customs documentation, and related paperwork.
**Coordination**: Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping companies, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient movement of goods. Communicate with internal and external parties to resolve any documentation or shipping issues.
**Tariff Classification**: Classify products under the Harmonized System (HS) code to determine the correct duty rates and eligibility for trade agreements.
**Compliance Audits**: Conduct regular internal audits to verify compliance with import and export regulations and identify areas for improvement.
**Risk Assessment**: Evaluate potential risks related to international trade and develop strategies to mitigate them, such as managing compliance with export controls.
**Customer Support**: Assist customers and suppliers with any documentation-related inquiries or issues, providing guidance and resolving problems as necessary.
**Continuous Improvement**: Keep abreast of changes in trade regulations and industry best practices, and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and compliance of import and export operations.
**Qualifications**:
- A bachelor's degree in business, international trade, or a related field is often preferred.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for documentation and record keeping.
- Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with international shipping methods and logistics.
**Salary**: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
