Optical Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

- **Customer Service**:Assisting customers in selecting frames and lenses that suit their needs and preferences, providing advice on eyewear care, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- **Eyewear Sales**:Helping customers choose the right eyewear, including frames, lenses, and contact lenses, and handling sales transactions.
- **Frame and Lens Fitting**:Assisting with frame adjustments, lens measurements, and ensuring proper fit and comfort.
- **Administrative Tasks**:Scheduling appointments, managing patient records, processing insurance claims, and handling other administrative duties.
- **Eye Care Support**:Performing preliminary eye tests (like visual acuity and color vision), maintaining a clean and organized work area, and assisting with other tasks as directed by the optometrist.
- **Inventory Management**:Ensuring adequate stock levels of frames, lenses, and other optical products, and maintaining an organized display area.
- **Communication**:Providing clear and effective communication with customers, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- **Technical Skills**:Some optical assistants may be trained to use specialized equipment for lensometry and other pre-exam procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- **Customer Service Skills**: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to build rapport with customers.
- **Sales Skills**: Ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products.
- **Attention to Detail**: Accuracy in measurements, record keeping, and other tasks.
- **Optical Knowledge**: A basic understanding of eye anatomy, vision correction, and different types of lenses and frames.
- **Computer Skills**: Proficiency in using computers for administrative tasks and accessing patient information.
- **Teamwork**: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- **Preferred Qualifications**: Previous experience in an optical setting, relevant certifications, or a strong interest in the field.

Pay: From ₹240,000.00 per year
