The SQL Server Database Administrator position will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems.

You will be the primary point of contact for all incidents assigned and retain ownership until resolution, unless otherwise advised.

**As our SQL Server DBA, you will have these main objectives**:

- Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialised role
- Design and implement database in accordance to end users information needs and views
- Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner
- Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
- Minimise database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
- Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
- Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
- Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes
- Monitor system's health and performance
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
- Provide suggestions for solutions
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours

- Have a University degree, with 3-5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or in a similar role
- Have prior experience of with MY SQL Server Administration, Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), Backups, Restores and Recovery models
- Have prior experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server and are well-versed with Windows server, including Active Directory
- Possess good analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot production issues
- Have good communication skills and a demonstrated passion for technical learning and implementing ideas leading to Automations and process improvements
