Stereo Roto Artist

Company 3/Method Inc is seeking a **Stereo **Roto Artist **fast-paced projects with attention to accuracy/edging, consistency, and time management. Silhouette experience preferred but not necessary. Roto artists manually draw around and cut out objects from movie frames so that the required parts of the image can be used, a process known as rotoscoping. If the camera's moving, roto artists trace the relevant areas of every frame within the shot so that CG can be combined accurately with the live action.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Perform all necessary work associated with the required department-related tasks of Conversion Rotoscopy
- Ensure project files are saved, backed up and handled per all established procedures.
- Adhere to all file/character/layer/etc. naming conventions without exception.
- Adhere to all established security requirements to ensure the safe handling of our clients’ assets.
- Complete all necessary checklists to ensure process and job completion accuracy.
- Maintain a positive attitude even during periods of difficult work.
- Take creative direction from Team Lead(s), Department Head(s) and/or fellow artists as required.
- Give regular work-in-progress updates to Team Lead(s) and Production.
- Review all personal work and contributions to a combined file, always aiming to improve quality towards client requirements.
- Ensure all notes are addressed in an efficient, timely way.
- Present work in dailies on a regular basis.
- Update the artist management system for all status-updates, responses to notes, etc.
- Active participation in team meetings, production meetings and other meetings as required.
- Provide regular feedback to Team Lead(s) when an area of improvement is observed.
- Always request time-off on an early/timely basis per HR and the department’s requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 3-6 years’ experience in film industry, with some stereo Roto / Keying experience in a VFX facility
- Working knowledge of and ability to use Mocha, Silhouette,
- Understanding of general VFX methodologies. Stereography knowledge is a plus.
- Proven ability to work closely in a small team with tight schedules
- Ability to take direction and structure working practices appropriate to the department’s overall goals
- Desire to learn from others and to take on increasingly challenging tasks
- Must have team work, organization and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work independently when required.
- Must possess extreme attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work in night shifts, extended hours and/or weekends, as required
- A 'can do' attitude
