Product Owner I

The Product Owner is responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog, acting as the primary liaison between the development team and key stakeholders. This role will utilize general professional technical and communication skills and developing knowledge of the product along with provided training on Product Management principles, guidelines and processes to help ensure the product aligns with business goals. Will help communicate product vision and complete detailed requirements documentation needed to deliver a successful product

Job Responsibilities
- Based on breakdown achieved from working with product manager, complete the detailed write-up of the stories and define acceptance criteria - all to be refined with the team in scrum ceremonies
- Take initiatives from the business (product managers), work with product managers to break them into stories.
- Maintains the backlog and with the assistance of the product manager, prioritizes the backlog - focusing on sprint level priorities to achieve quarterly goals.
- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives)
- Act as a liaison between the Product manager and engineering teams to provide necessary information and answer questions to ensure development understands the product requirements and can deliver in sprint commitments
- Work with Scrum Master to aid in optimizing team's performance
- Work with the product manager and the team to plan and execute product releases, including preparation for Early Adopter/Beta testing, communications to customers, training artifacts, etc.
- Monitor progress at each stage of development to ensure alignment between all stakeholders and escalate if concerns are identified
- Work with direct supervisor and product manager(s) to gain skills and independence to progress into P2 or P3 level
- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint review, sprint retrospective).
- Take initiatives from the business (product managers), break them down into stories, and work with engineering to implement them.
- Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog with detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and estimations.
- Collaborate with the development team to refine backlog items and ensure clarity on requirements.
- Provide necessary information and answer questions to ensure the development team understands product requirements.
- Collaborate with scrum master to optimize the team's process and remove impediments.
- Define acceptance criteria for each user story and ensure features are delivered to the desired quality standard.
- Collaborate with the team to plan and execute product releases.
- Evaluate progress at each stage of development to ensure alignment between development teams and business stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Min of 1-year prior applicable experience in relative field (support, implementation, account management)
- Higher Education (BS/BA equivalent)
- Strong preference for knowledge of the US healthcare industry, ideally behavioral health and prior EHR experience very helpful
- Knowledge in specialty focus area relevant to specific product focus of role or related areas is highly desired (Computer Sciences, Data / Analytics, Healthcare Regulatory, Healthcare RCMS, Clinical Knowledge)
- Understanding of the Agile process and methodologies
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical thinker with the ability to understand business needs to make informed product decisions
