You will be part of a team that directly supports Monotype’s efforts to educate unlicensed (and under licensed) font users on complicated IP issues. Not only that, you will also be a valued adviser, providing meaningful documentation to its Legal Counsel representing Monotype in high-value negotiations and disputes. What you’ll be doing: - You’ll be conducting infringement research (trademark and copyright infringements of Monotype IP) and producing court-proof documentation. - You’ll be collaborating with various teams at Monotype, including Sales and Market Research, plus any relevant external partners to verify whether font use is unlicensed and / or enforceable copyright infringement. - You’ll be creating and administering infringement files, including coordinating with business teams on infringement and / or license compliance outreach matters, responding to factual questions and partnering with Monotype’s legal team. - You’ll be supporting Monotype IP Enforcement and legal knowledge sharing initiatives. What we’re looking for: - Completed legal education at university degree level (or equivalent work experience). - 1-2 years’ experience at a law firm or in the legal department of a company (preferably a software related company). - Basic understanding of intellectual property law with practical experience in infringement matters an advantage. - Basic understanding of contract law with practical experience in commercial contracts an advantage - Strong problem-solving skills - Highly organised - Excellent English language skills Monotype is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
