Job Title: Production Supervisor

Job Summary: As the Production Supervisor you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for managing the production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of our laboratory equipment. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, implement cost-saving measures, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your leadership and strategic thinking will be instrumental in maintaining our position as a market leader.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:

- Oversee and manage the day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, production schedules, and cost targets.
- Optimize production processes, workflow, and resource allocation to enhance efficiency, minimize waste, and maximize productivity.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with the R&D and Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of new product introductions into the manufacturing process.
- Track the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) or a similar metric to assess the efficiency and utilization of manufacturing resources to optimize production processes and identify areas for improvement.

Team Leadership and Development:

- Lead and motivate a team of production technicians, and operators, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, facilitating their professional growth and development through training, coaching, and performance management.
- Foster a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
- Measure employee productivity metrics, such as units produced per labor hour or value-added per employee to assesses the efficiency of the workforce and helps identify training or process improvement needs.

Supply Chain Management:

- Collaborate with the Procurement team to ensure the availability of required materials and components for production.
- Implement effective inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize shortages, and reduce carrying costs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and resolving any issues that may impact production.

Continuous Improvement and Quality Assurance:

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, employing lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to optimize processes, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
- Implement and maintain quality control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in operations management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the laboratory equipment industry.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and quality management systems.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles, including procurement, inventory control, and supplier relationship management.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
