**Job Description: Career Counselor**

**Overview**: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Career Counselor to join our team. The Career Counselor will play a vital role in guiding individuals towards making informed decisions about their career paths. This position requires a deep understanding of career development, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide personalized guidance to clients.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Career Assessment and Counseling**:

- Conduct individual career assessments to understand clients' interests, skills, and values.
- Provide personalized career counseling sessions to help clients explore career options.
- Assist clients in identifying their strengths and areas for development.
- **Career Planning and Goal Setting**:

- Collaborate with clients to create personalized career development plans.
- Set achievable goals and milestones to help clients progress in their chosen careers.
- Provide guidance on educational pathways, training programs, and certifications.
- **Job Search Assistance**:

- Assist clients in developing effective job search strategies.
- Provide resume writing and cover letter guidance.
- Conduct mock interviews to help clients improve their interview skills.
- **Skill Development and Training**:

- Recommend skill development opportunities such as workshops, courses, or certifications.
- Organize career-related workshops and seminars for groups of clients.
- Stay updated on industry trends and job market demands to provide relevant advice.
- **Resource Referral**:

- Connect clients with relevant resources such as job boards, networking events, and career fairs.
- Maintain a database of useful resources for clients' reference.
- **Client Follow-up and Support**:

- Follow up with clients to track their progress and offer ongoing support.
- Provide encouragement and motivation to clients during their career development journey.
- Address any concerns or challenges that clients may encounter.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
- Prepare reports on client outcomes and program effectiveness.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Diploma preferred.
- Proven experience as a Career Counselor or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of career development theories and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to empathize with clients and provide non-judgmental support.
- Knowledge of assessment tools and career exploration resources.
- Familiarity with resume writing, job search strategies, and interview preparation techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Certification in career counseling (e.g., National Certified Counselor, Certified Career Counselor) is a plus.
