Are you passionate about healthcare and ensuring the accuracy of patient records? We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our Medical Records Department and play a vital role in managing and safeguarding patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage medical records with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to input, update, and retrieve patient information.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and protect patient confidentiality.
- Organize and prioritize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines and departmental goals.
- Analyze and interpret medical records for completeness and accuracy.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth operations within the department.
Qualifications:
**Education**:
- Associate’s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records Technology, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree preferred for higher-level positions.
Certification:
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) is highly desirable.
- Additional certifications such as Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) are a plus.
**Experience**:
- Previous experience in medical records or health information management preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous.
**Skills**:
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and precision in managing medical records.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in EHR systems and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology: Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret medical records accurately.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal skills for effective interaction with healthcare professionals and patients.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a team and maintain positive relationships.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies and processes in a dynamic healthcare environment.
