Senior Radiologist

**Job Overview**:
The Senior Radiologist will lead diagnostic imaging services in the hospital, ensuring high-quality imaging results for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves supervising the radiology team, interpreting various imaging modalities, and consulting with other medical professionals to ensure accurate patient diagnoses. The position requires a commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous professional development.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Diagnostic Imaging**:

- Perform and interpret imaging studies, including X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, and mammograms.
- Accurately interpret imaging results and provide detailed reports to referring physicians.
- Ensure the accuracy, clarity, and timeliness of imaging interpretations and reports.
- **Clinical Leadership**:

- Supervise and mentor junior radiologists, technologists, and other team members in the radiology department.
- Provide training, guidance, and support in the use of advanced imaging techniques and technologies.
- Lead regular team meetings and case reviews to enhance department performance and patient care.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with referring doctors, surgeons, and specialists to discuss diagnostic findings and recommend further investigations or treatment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) to provide input on patient management plans.
- Act as a point of reference for complex cases requiring advanced diagnostic interpretations.
- **Patient Care**:

- Ensure patient comfort and safety during radiological procedures.
- Communicate with patients regarding the imaging procedures, answering questions, and explaining the results in understandable terms.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies regarding data protection.
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of imaging quality and patient care.
- Stay updated with technological advancements and ensure that the radiology department utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.
- Participate in internal and external audits and regulatory inspections to maintain accreditation and compliance with safety standards.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Collaborate with the hospital management team to ensure efficient workflow in the radiology department.
- Assist in budgeting, procurement, and maintenance of radiology equipment.
- Develop and update departmental protocols and procedures in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- MBBS and MD/DNB in Radiology or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Fellowship or additional certifications in specialized imaging techniques (preferred).
- **Experience**:

- Minimum 10 years of experience in radiology, with at least 3-5 years in a senior position.
- Extensive experience in interpreting a wide range of imaging modalities (X-rays, CT, MRI, ultrasound, etc.).
- **Skills & Competencies**:

- Expertise in diagnostic imaging and the ability to interpret complex cases.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Up-to-date with current trends and developments in radiology.

**Work Conditions**:

- Full-time position with on-call duties as required.
