What you'll do:
Additional responsibilities will include continuous improvement of the automation in test, development, and production environments, researching and implementing new technologies, solving issues as they arise, and writing unit, functional, and automation tests.

We enjoy working closely with each other utilizing an Agile development methodology. Priorities can change quickly, but our team members are able to stay ahead to delight every one of our customers whether they are internal or external to Viasat.

The day-to-day:

- Automation of new features planned for the release using Python.
- Automation of identified test escapes in production.
- Create scalable/generic libraries using Python to be used for automation of other features.
- Writing simulators for various components in the ground system network that might interact with our system using Python.
- General tools development to reduce manual work.
- UI automation using Selenium.
- Optimizing/Enhancing pipelines by making changes to scripts.
- Continuously look for ways to optimize the process and testing approaches.
- Debugging and fixing pipeline failures run across different environments

What you'll need:

- 4+ years in automation testing, software development, or a combination of these roles.
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks
- Programming skills in Python and GUI Automation.
- Experience in planning test cases to ensure full test coverage.
- Ability to improve testing processes and techniques on existing system.
- Experience developing/maintaining CI pipeline using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, etc.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in working in both Waterfall and Agile/Scrum environments.
- Hands-on ability to automate repeated tasks and to build test coverage through existing or new infrastructure.
- Experience maintaining system level test plans, test procedures, and test automation tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, EE, IT, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to travel 10%

What will help you on the job:

- Knowledge of building system health monitoring dashboards.
- Experience upgrading legacy non-automated test environments to demonstrate test automation.
- Solid understanding of network analyzers, Wireshark, and equivalent tools.
- Knowledge of relational database deployment ecosystem.
- Knowledge of AWS is a plus.
