Introduction:
- Responsible for validating new and existing trade bookings against term sheet provided to the clients (including but not limited to OTC Equity Derivatives, Equity Linked Notes, Equities financing, Funding & Equity related instruments) across APAC, EMEA and NY.
- Understand the system and control framework to ensure validation processes are followed and performed to high standard (in conjunction with policies).
- Liaise with trading desk, Sales, PC, Operations in case of discrepancy with documentation by proposing booking and documentation amendments and coordinating the implementation of enhancements
- Identifying risks with respect to booking methodology deficiencies as well as discrepancies with the trade documentation
- Close liaison with the trading desk, Operations, Risk and IT and various other areas of the bank on daily P&L of deal and other ad hoc queries.
- Participating in initiatives to continuously challenge the existing processes especially in an ever changing control environment to ensure any gaps are tightened.
- Identify and drive process improvements, providing recommendations to the AVP.
- Work with the team manager to regularly review and assess existing procedures, Bcontrol, Bchecks, SLAs.
- Assist team manager in generation of daily/weekly and monthly MIS reports to senior management. This will also include the development and production of adhoc reporting as required. These could be required in various communications styles such as reports, presentations, meetings etc
What will you be doing?
- Analysis of trading portfolio including obtaining expert product knowledge
- Performance and monitoring of Key Controls and Reconciliations
- The role will require close contact with various Ops teams, IT and the front office, and Sales so good communication skills are essential to this role.
- Ensure any areas of concern are identified and escalated to senior management and the business as necessary, while attempting to implement both short term and long term resolutions if the problem is reoccurring.
- Manage available time to ensure most efficient team output, while ensuring no controls are compromised.
- Experience and understanding for trade lifecycle and familiarity with, complex payout calculations.
- Strong people influencing skills and an ability to ‘get things done’ for the business.
- A systems-based approach, understanding workflow diagrams and decision trees. This forms part of our day-to-day in resolving issues with structures.
- Good sense of timeliness and can work under pressure to observe the deadline.
What we’re looking for:
- Extensive investment banking operations experience of ~8 to 12 yrs. In depth knowledge of investment banking processes and Operations.
- Good client services experience.
- Solid experience of across various investment banking products but not essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in business process reengineering.
- Strong track record of execution and results, high level of drive to meet deadlines and targets.
