Medical Transcriptionist

**Job Summary**:
The Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for transcribing audio recordings made by healthcare professionals into written medical documents. These documents may include patient histories, examination notes, discharge summaries, operative reports, and other healthcare-related correspondence. The role demands a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and an understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Transcription**:
Accurately transcribe dictated audio files from physicians and other healthcare professionals into written reports and electronic health records (EHR).
- **Editing and Proofreading**:
Edit and proofread transcribed documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with formatting and grammatical standards.
- **Medical Terminology**:

- **Compliance**:
Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, including patient confidentiality under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines.
- **Formatting and Templates**:
Format documents according to organizational or client-specific templates and requirements.
- **Communication**:
Consult with healthcare professionals to clarify unclear dictations or to resolve inconsistencies.
- **Documentation Management**:
Store and manage transcribed documents securely and in an organized manner.

**Skills and Qualifications:Education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Certification in Medical Transcription or Healthcare Documentation (preferred).

**Experience**:

- Previous experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or similar role (preferred).

**Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency with medical transcription software, EHR systems, and word processing tools.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.

**Key Competencies**:

- Exceptional listening and typing skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent command of English, including grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

**Other Requirements**:

- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and data privacy standards.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

**Working Conditions**:

- May involve sitting for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, or holidays if necessary.

**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**:

- **Accuracy Rate**: Maintain a transcription accuracy rate of [e.g., 98% or higher].
- **Turnaround Time (TAT)**: Ensure timely delivery of transcribed reports within specified deadlines.
- **Compliance**: Adherence to HIPAA and other regulatory standards.

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Morning shift

Supplemental Pay:

- Overtime pay
