Biomaterials Scientist

Gitan Biocare Pvt. Ltd. is a start-up company focused on improving the clinical success and longevity of orthopedic and dental prostheses for younger and active patients to get relief from debilitating pain and to improve the quality of their life. Our long-term goal is to bring innovative implant technologies to market to provide a pain-free, healthy life style for millions of patients undergoing multiple revision surgeries every year. This project is in collaboration with Vellore Institute of Technology that will be the main site for the position.

**Job description**
- MS/PhD in biomaterials, microbiology, tissue engineering/cell biology, or related scientific discipline is required. Background in orthopedic implants is required.
- Hands-on experience with human osteoblasts, L929 Cell line, bacterial culture, MIC, MBC studies and basic cell culture techniques along with spectrophotometric assays is required.
- Experience in surface modification of biomaterials and materials characterization (XRD, SEM, surface profilometry, BET, ICP-MS, mechanical testing) is desirable.
- Perform literature review, market research analysis, prepare and deliver presentations.
- Assist in proposal preparation, writing and pitch in front of investors, scientists and faculty.
- Good hands-on lab and time management skills are required.
- Experience in design of experiments is required.
- Passionate, team player, result oriented, strong problem solving and analytical skills are necessary to be successful in the projects.
- Experience working with start-up companies would be a plus.

**Salary**: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
