Scientist - Seed Technologist

Bengaluru Karnataka, India Kisankraft Machine Tools Pvt Ltd Full time

1) Production, Storing, Testing, and Packaging of seeds of hybrids and high-yielding varieties in Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds, Fruits and Vegetables.

2) Ensure compliance with applicable regulations for seed production, testing, labeling, packaging, etc.

3) Set up a new ISTA-accredited seed testing lab from scratch.

4) Strategic selection of crops for seed production based on data with goals of sustainable and profitable farming. Provide management with business intelligence including identifying new product requirements.

5) Research and analyze crops for hydrology and region-specific requirements.

6) Mentoring and managing the team of seed scientists and field staff for seed production and processing of selected crops.

7) Track monsoon, irrigation, groundwater, and plantation data from various sources and formulate strategy for various regions, months in advance.

8) Regular field visits, hands-on work, and willingness to work with farmers.

9) Launching new seeds, extensive field demonstrations of new cultivars, and farmer education.

10) Educate KisanKraft team members & dealers from other non-agriculture backgrounds to develop a cohesive network.

11) Actively participate in research to produce novel cultivars.

12) Build your team Recruit, train, and prune as necessary.

**Mandatory Qualification**: M. Sc. /Ph.D. in Agriculture with specialization in Seed Science & Technology.

**Experience**: Minimum 2 years experience in production and QC.

**Travel**: Occasional travel is required for this position for production, processing, demonstration, farmer education events, etc.
