- The AutoCAD Draftsman will work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to support design execution, vendor coordination, and site activities. Experience in Chemical, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, or Manufacturing industries will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting & Design Support
Prepare 2D and 3D technical drawings for mechanical, piping, structural, civil, electrical, and HVAC systems using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings, P&IDs, piping layouts, isometrics, and shop drawings as per engineering requirements.
Ensure accuracy in dimensions, material specifications, and tolerances.
Modify and revise drawings based on engineer and client feedback.
Coordination with Engineering Teams
Work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to develop drawings that meet project requirements.
Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings, red-line markups, and revisions during project execution.
Ensure alignment of drawings with engineering calculations, specifications, and site conditions.
Vendor & Construction Support
Provide drawing support for procurement, fabrication, and construction teams.
Review and verify vendor drawings and technical documentation for compliance with project requirements.
Support site teams with updated drawings, modifications, and technical clarifications.
Compliance & Quality Control
Ensure all drawings meet industry standards (ASME, API, ANSI, NFPA, ISO, OSHA, AIA, or local regulations).
Maintain drawing documentation in compliance with company and project quality control procedures.
Perform self-checking and peer review to ensure accuracy before submission. Documentation & File Management
Maintain an organized drawing repository, ensuring all revisions and updates are properly tracked.
Use document control systems (EDMS, SharePoint, or other PDM software) for version control and record-keeping.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D), Revit, SolidWorks, PDMS, SmartPlant, or similar drafting software.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, piping, structural, civil, HVAC, and electrical drafting.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
Experience in plant layouts, piping isometrics, equipment arrangements, and fabrication drawings.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
Strong communication skills for coordination with engineering and project teams.
