Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct quality control tests on incoming raw materials, including scrap metal and alloys, to ensure they meet specifications for steel casting.
- Perform chemical and physical analyses of molten steel samples to verify composition and quality standards.
- Conduct metallographic examinations of castings to assess microstructure and identify defects or anomalies.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including spectrometers, microscopes, and hardness testers, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Prepare and analyze samples using various testing methods, such as spectroscopy, microscopy, and tensile testing.
- Document test results accurately and maintain detailed records of all laboratory activities and findings.
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others in the laboratory.

Qualifications:

- Associate degree or equivalent certification in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in the steel casting industry.
- Familiarity with laboratory testing techniques and equipment used in materials analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and interpret test results.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to laboratory protocols and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field.
- Previous experience with steel casting processes and metallurgical analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and quality control procedures.
- Experience with statistical analysis software for data interpretation.
