CT / MRI Technician Job Description
- *Responsibilities**:
1. **Patient Care**:

- Greet patients and explain procedures to alleviate any concerns or anxiety.
- Prepare patients for CT and MRI scans by positioning them correctly and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Monitor patients throughout the procedure and address any issues or discomfort promptly.

2. **Equipment Operation**:

- Operate CT and MRI scanners to obtain diagnostic images according to physician orders.
- Adjust imaging parameters such as slice thickness, exposure settings, and contrast injection as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.

3. **Image Quality Assurance**:

- Review acquired images to ensure technical quality and accuracy for diagnostic interpretation.
- Troubleshoot technical issues or artifacts that may affect image quality and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Document imaging procedures and patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

4. **Radiation Safety**:

- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and yourself.
- Use shielding devices and techniques to protect patients and colleagues from unnecessary radiation exposure.

5. **Team Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings and patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.
- *Requirements**:

- Bachelor's / associate's degree in radiologic technology.
- Certification in CT and MRI technology from an accredited program.
- State licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a CT / MRI Technician preferred.
- Proficiency in operating CT and MRI scanners and related equipment.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
