**Inclusive School Principal**

The Piramal Foundation is a Not-For-Profit organization that aims to create replicable solutions to some of our nation’s most pressing challenges. Our method is based on a belief that talented young people, challenged to address some of our country’s most common development issues, will find innovative solutions that are relevant, cost-effective, and applicable to the nation at large.

In line with Millennium Development Goals, Piramal Foundation is focused on universal primary education, reducing child mortality rates, improving maternal health and improving access to safe drinking water. We currently work across 27 states, a lot of which is in partnership with the central and state governments. We have developed innovative approaches and programs in every vertical and built strong partnerships.

**Role Overview**:

We do this through forging strategic partnerships with the government and other key players; and bringing innovative, customized solutions, as part of our mission to ensure equitable and quality Access for All to Health, Education, and Safe Drinking Water.

Building forward on its purpose, Piramal Foundation is planning to expand its educational services to people with diverse (special) needs by setting up the **Piramal Centre for Children with Special Needs**. The Centre is being built as a top-tier facility to help children with disabilities become self-sufficient and productive. Our inclusive school will have a world-class curriculum and pedagogy, with a focus on social, emotional, and ethical competencies, as well as experiential learning. The school with provide education from kindergarten to Grade 12 to 500 children in the district of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.

**Key Responsibilities**:The Principal is responsible for culminating an inclusive learning environment for the students and the working environment for teachers. The principal sets a goal for the school to achieve and motivates staff and students to achieve that goal. You must have in-depth knowledge of the educational policies and must work in the way for the betterment of students by following the guidelines. An ideal principal is someone who takes an initiative in being a responsible member of the community. You must also look at everyone’s suggestions and grievances and must make decisions based on your wisdom by keeping the betterment of the school at the topmost priority.

The Principal will be accountable for the following:
**Facilitating systemic change and leading faculty to adopt new attitudes and new practices**:

- Recruit appropriate faculty and staff for the school.
- Make provision of teacher trainings to ensure that they are trained to adopt strategies in teaching that can cater to all students.
- Provide teachers with adequate planning time for their classes and ensure students receive appropriate concessions in the classroom and exams based on their needs.

**Instructional leadership**:

- Develop programs that improve teacher performance and assist students in understanding class material better.
- Oversees educators in the school, provide periodic observations and evaluations that are timely and constructive and completed based on the timetables set by the Rajasthan Board.
- Provide guidance to the school’s network of student leaders and challenge those leaders to make the school a better place.
- Host regular awareness seminars for parents and teachers on related topics.

**Proponent of contemporary national educational regulations**:

- Ensure a fair school admission policy
- Uphold our educational policies and integrate the common core government guidelines into each class curriculum.
- Enforce disciplinary policies and procedures as prescribed by the Rajasthan Board.
- Maintain competency and student academic achievement as prescribed by the National Education Policy.

**Administrative responsibilities**:

- Assign special education staff to grade level or department teams.
- Create benchmarks for students and teachers and track progress towards those goals.
- Conduct regular meetings to review individual student needs.
- Respond immediately to concerns from parents and school board administrators.
- Ensure completion of routine and required paperwork including attendance reports, test results, and licensing information for students, educators, staff, and school management.
- Ensure that necessary maintenance and repairs to the school property are performed.
- Oversee, hire, and evaluate the performance of clerical, janitorial, and cafeteria staff.

**Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
