Key Responsibilities
1. Community Engagement and Outreach:
Identify and engage with youth in target communities to create awareness about the skilling project.
Build relationships with local leaders, institutions, and stakeholders to promote the project and secure buy-in.
Act as the primary point of contact between the community and the project team.
2. Youth Mobilization:
Organize awareness campaigns, events, and community meetings to recruit youth for skilling programs.
Ensure inclusivity, encouraging participation from marginalized groups, such as women, differently-abled individuals, and underserved youth.
3. Needs Assessment and Recruitment:
Conduct assessments to understand the aspirations, needs, and barriers faced by youth in accessing skill development opportunities.
Identify eligible youth and ensure they enroll in the appropriate skilling programs.
4. Program Support:
Assist in the implementation of skilling workshops, training sessions, and mentorship programs.
Facilitate logístical arrangements for project activities, such as venue coordination and participant mobilization.
Monitor attendance and participation to ensure the retention of enrolled youth.
5. Community Advocacy and Awareness:
Promote the benefits of skill development and career readiness through community campaigns.
Address misconceptions or resistance related to vocational training or skilling opportunities.
6. Capacity Building:
Identify and strengthen youth networks and local organizations to support the project’s objectives.
Empower youth leaders to act as ambassadors for the program in their communities.
7. Monitoring and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of mobilization efforts, participation, and outcomes.
Provide regular updates to the project team, including challenges and success stories from the field.
8. Conflict Resolution and Problem-Solving:
Address issues such as dropout cases or conflicts among participants in a culturally sensitive manner.
Advocate for equitable access and resolve barriers to participation.
Qualifications and Experience
**Education**:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, youth development, community development, or a related field.
**Experience**:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in community mobilization, particularly with youth-oriented projects or skill development programs.
**Skills**:Excellent communication, outreach, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to engage and inspire young people from diverse backgrounds.
Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Proficiency in data collection and reporting.
Knowledge of local languages and cultural contexts is an advantage.
Key Competencies
Passion for youth development and empowerment.
Ability to work in collaboration with stakeholders and community members.
