**Auction Daily is seeking a part-time News Article Writer to join our creative team. This is a remote position for a New York/ New Jersey-based company.**

Job Overview:
Auction Daily, a leading online source for auction and art world news, seeks a versatile, experienced writer with exceptional editorial skills and an eye for important news stories. This person must have an understanding of news writing, the ability to meet deadlines promptly, an interest in art and/or collectibles, and the ability to quickly grasp the nuances of industry language and issues.

**Responsibilities**:

- Research, write, and copyedit one full-length and high quality news article (750 - 1,000 words) per week, total of four per month
- Work with editors on each article and occasionally revise past articles at request of the editorial and SEO teams
- Pitch and discuss topics with demonstrated news judgment and insight
- Expand or develop an understanding of the art and collectibles auction industry. Prior experience in the industry is preferred but not required if you are a fast learner
- Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

- Minimum 1-2 years of writing experience required. Prior editorial and/or news industry experience preferred
- Ability to quickly research and write high quality news articles
- Ability to set and meet deadlines on a consistent basis
- Ability to work collaboratively with editorial staff and utilize constructive feedback to continuously improve Auction Daily’s news output
- English writing and editing proficiency
- Technical proficiency in Google Suite/Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with auction terminology and art world industry practices strongly preferred
