Slitter Operator

The Slitting Operator in the Printing and Packaging Industry is responsible for operating and maintaining slitting machines to convert large rolls of printed or unprinted materials (such as paper, plastic films, or cardboard) into smaller, precise widths for further processing or packaging. This role ensures the efficient and accurate cutting of materials according to specifications while maintaining high quality and mínimal waste.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Machine Operation**:

- Set up and operate slitting machines to cut large rolls of material into smaller rolls or sheets, adhering to production specifications.
- Adjust machine settings, including tension, speed, and blade pressure, to ensure precise cutting and alignment.
- Monitor the slitting process, making adjustments as necessary to ensure product quality and consistency.
- **Material Handling**:

- Load raw material rolls (printed or unprinted) onto the slitting machine, ensuring they are properly aligned and secured.
- Manage material changes, including switching to different substrates or sizes, based on production requirements.
- Handle materials with care to prevent damage during the slitting process.
- **Quality Control**:

- Inspect slitted materials for defects, such as uneven edges, incorrect width, or contamination, and take corrective action as needed.
- Measure and verify the width, length, and quality of the slitted material to ensure it meets customer specifications and quality standards.
- Perform routine checks to ensure that slitting blades are sharp, and the machine is properly calibrated.
- **Maintenance and Troubleshooting**:

- Perform routine maintenance on slitting machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts (such as blades or bearings).
- Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, making adjustments or reporting issues to the maintenance team when necessary.
- Ensure that machines are operating efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing production.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Follow all safety protocols and procedures while operating slitting machines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure that work areas are clean, organized, and free from hazards to prevent accidents.
- Comply with all industry regulations and standards related to equipment operation, waste disposal, and environmental practices.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Complete daily production logs, noting the quantity of material processed, any downtime, and machine settings.
- Report any material defects, machine issues, or safety concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities performed on the slitting machine.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with other operators, quality control personnel, and production staff to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery of materials.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members to ensure production goals are met and any issues are promptly addressed.
- Assist with other production tasks as needed to support the overall operation.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month

**Experience**:
