Assisting the physician with the interpretation of test results and treatment of patients
- Recording and measuring brain activity using electroencephalography (EEG) technology
- Installing, calibrating, testing, and operating diagnostic equipment such as EEG machines and evoked potential equipment
- Preparing patients for procedures by shaving their heads and cleaning their scalps with antiseptic solutions
- Maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room by using sterilization techniques and equipment such as autoclaves to sterilize instruments and other materials
- Recording patient information such as vital signs, responses to stimuli, EEG wave patterns, and other data from medical tests
- Preparing patients for brain surgery by administering anesthetic agents and monitoring patients during surgery
- Functions as a resource person to physicians and their staff, family members and hospital staff
- Prepares patient and performs Electroencephalograms, Ambulatory EEG’s and other tests within your scope of practice
- Edit and prepare test for reading by a Physician
- Reports findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation
- Employee will demonstrate customer service in all interaction, that is compassionate, courteous, friendly, non-judgmental and demonstrate a respect for privacy
- Cleans and maintains equipment (EEG machine and accessories)
- Records medical information in Hospital Information System
- Use specific protocol for patient wires including taking them off and proper cleaning and storage
- Some office responsibilities such as scheduling, filing, computer and telephone skills Performs other duties as directed by the Cardiologist/ Neurologist/ Senior EEG Technician/ Head Nurse
