Anesthesia Coder

**Qualification/ Eligibility**:

- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
- A strong understanding of physiology, medical terms and anatomy
- American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) certification
- Should have active AAPC Membership
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of PHI

Experienced coder to assist with coding of diagnoses and procedures, using CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM classification systems to meet billing system requirements for all professional, ASC and anesthesia services with a 98% accuracy rate.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accounts for coding and abstracting of patient encounters, including diagnostic and procedural information, significant reportable elements, and complications
- Assigns CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes for reimbursements, research and compliance with regulatory requirements utilizing established guidelines
- Analyzes medical records and identifies documentation deficiencies and needs for proper reimbursement
- Identify reportable elements, complications, and other procedures
