Turner

The Turner is responsible for operating and maintaining lathe machines to machine and shape components used in the production of transformers or CRGO (Cold Rolled Grain Oriented Steel) products. This role involves precision metalworking to ensure that parts meet the required specifications and quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Machine Operation**:

- Operate conventional and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathe machines to machine transformer parts, CRGO components, and other related metal products.
- Set up the lathe machines, including the selection of tools, fixtures, and materials for specific operations.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the quality and accuracy of the machined components.
- **Precision Machining**:

- Perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, and threading operations to meet precise specifications.
- Ensure parts are machined to required tolerances and surface finishes as per technical drawings or specifications.
- Inspect and measure machined components using precision instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, and gauges) to ensure conformance to required dimensions.
- **Quality Control and Inspection**:

- Check the dimensions, finishes, and overall quality of the parts during and after machining.
- Report any defects or quality issues to the supervisor and make adjustments to the process as necessary.
- Maintain a focus on minimizing scrap and rework through careful machining and regular inspection.
- **Maintenance and Machine Care**:

- Perform routine maintenance on lathe machines, including cleaning, oiling, and lubrication.
- Report any machine malfunctions or breakdowns promptly and assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
- Ensure machines are calibrated and set up properly to maintain operational efficiency.
- **Production Support**:

- Assist in the production of transformer and CRGO components, ensuring timely production runs and adherence to deadlines.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., assembly, quality control) to ensure smooth production flow.
- Adhere to production schedules and follow safety protocols to meet plant objectives.
- **Tool Management**:

- Select and install the correct cutting tools, inserts, and accessories for different machining tasks.
- Monitor tool wear and replace tools as needed to maintain cutting efficiency and part quality.
- Keep track of tools and their condition to prevent downtime or delays in production.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain records of machining operations, including part numbers, machine settings, and quantities produced.
- Report daily production data, including machine performance and output, to the supervisor.
- Record any issues or deviations from standards and suggest improvements for process optimization.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Follow all health and safety regulations while working with machines and materials.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Comply with safety protocols for handling hazardous materials, tools, and equipment.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- ITI
- Training in machine operation or a relevant trade apprenticeship is a plus.
- **Experience**:

- 1 year of experience as a Turner or in a similar role in the manufacturing industry, preferably in transformer or CRGO production.
- Experience with both manual and CNC lathe machines.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in operating conventional and CNC lathe machines.
- Knowledge of machining techniques, tool selection, and quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
