- A surveyor plays a crucial role on a construction site, ensuring that the project is built according to design and legal requirements. Here are the main roles and responsibilities of a surveyor in construction:_
- **1. Site Assessment and Preparation**_
l _Conduct topographical surveys to map the land's features._
l _Evaluate ground conditions and help determine suitability for construction._
l Perform topographic surveys to map natural and man-made features of the land, including contours, vegetation, utilities and structures.
l _Set out control points for future construction work._
- **2. Setting Out (Construction Layout)**_
l _Accurately mark out positions and levels for foundations, walls, roads, and other structures._
l _Ensure that the construction follows the design drawings and specifications._
- **3.Measurement and Monitoring**_
l _Measure distances, angles, and elevations using instruments like total stations, GPS, levels, and theodolites._
l _Monitor settlement or movement of structures during and after construction._
- **4. Data Collection and Management**_
l _Collect and process survey data using software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D)._
l _Maintain records of measurements, plans, and reports for future reference._
- **5. Boundary and Legal Compliance**_

**Required skills**
- Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in surveying or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, equipment and software, preferably in the Indian context.
- Experience in land survey laws, regulations and practices in India.
- Proficiency in using surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS receivers, laser scanners and CAD software for surveying and land mapping.
- Solid understanding of survey calculations, geodesy and coordinate systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret survey data and resolve discrepancies.
- Analytical and mathematical abilities with attention to detail in survey measurements and documentation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
**Preferred Skills**
- Professional certification, such as a Licensed Professional Surveyor (LPS) or Certified Survey Technician (CST).
- Experience with 3D scanning and other modelling techniques.
- Knowledge of environmental and sustainability considerations in surveying.
- Understanding of land development and construction processes.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations in India.
Pay: Up to ₹500,000.00 per year
