**ECG (Electrocardiogram)** and **ESG (Electrogastrogram)** Technician in healthcare is a professional who specializes in operating diagnostic equipment to measure electrical activity in the heart (ECG) and stomach (ESG), assisting physicians in diagnosing and monitoring various conditions.

**ECG Technician Role**:

- **Main Focus**: Heart's electrical activity
- **Duties**:

- Prepare patients for ECG testing by explaining procedures
- Attach electrodes to the patient’s body
- Operate ECG machines and monitor readings
- Record, print, and report data to cardiologists
- Maintain and calibrate equipment
- **Common Settings**: Hospitals, cardiac clinics, diagnostic labs

**ESG Technician Role**:

- **Main Focus**: Stomach's electrical activity (less common role)
- **Duties**:

- Set up electrogastrography equipment
- Position electrodes on the abdomen
- Record and analyze slow-wave activity of the stomach
- Assist gastroenterologists in diagnosing motility disorders
- Ensure accurate data capture and reporting
- **Common Settings**: Gastroenterology departments, research labs

**Required Skills**:

- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
- Comfort with technology and data interpretation
- Patient care and communication skills

**Training & Certification**:

- Graduation with Relevant health care experience '
- CPR certification and knowledge of patient safety protocols are typically required
