Job Title: Digital Media Planner
Job Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Media Strategy Development: Lead the development of comprehensive digital media strategies aligned with marketing objectives. Develop and implement plans that ensure targeted media placements across platforms like Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and other digital advertising channels.
Media Buying & Budget Management: Manage media buying for digital campaigns across multiple platforms. Allocate and optimize media budgets to ensure cost-effective spending while meeting performance goals. Negotiate rates and placements to get the best value for the company.
Audience Segmentation & Targeting: Utilize data-driven insights to define and segment target audiences. Develop strategies to reach and engage specific demographics, behaviors, and interests across digital channels.
Campaign Execution & Monitoring: Oversee the execution of digital media campaigns, including the setup, launch, and monitoring of performance. Ensure that campaigns run smoothly and achieve defined KPIs (e.g., CTR, ROI, CPC, CPA).
Optimization & Performance Analysis: Continuously optimize campaigns based on performance data. Monitor key metrics and make real-time adjustments to ad copy, targeting, and budgets to maximize effectiveness and return on investment.
Reporting & Insights: Provide regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting campaign success, insights, and recommendations for improvement. Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.) to track key performance indicators and derive actionable insights.
Trend Monitoring & Innovation: Stay current with the latest digital media trends, platform updates, and best practices. Experiment with new ad formats, targeting strategies, and emerging technologies to ensure the brand stays ahead of the competition.
Vendor & Platform Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with media vendors, agencies, and advertising platforms to ensure strategic alignment and leverage their expertise and resources for campaign success.
Campaign Budget & Forecasting: Work with finance and other stakeholders to forecast future media needs, ensuring that media buying is aligned with projected marketing budgets and business goals.
Key Skills & Experience:
Experience: 5+ years of experience in digital media planning and buying, with a proven track record of successfully managing campaigns across multiple digital platforms.
Media Buying Expertise: In-depth knowledge of digital media buying processes, including programmatic advertising, direct buys, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and other digital platforms.
Audience & Data Segmentation: Expertise in defining and targeting specific audience segments through data analysis, leveraging tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Audience Insights, and third-party data providers.
Campaign Optimization & Analysis: Strong ability to optimize campaigns for performance, using tools such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, and other reporting platforms. Comfort with making data-driven decisions to adjust strategies for maximum impact.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with creative, content, social media, and analytics teams to ensure a unified and effective media strategy.
Negotiation Skills: Experience in negotiating with media vendors, ensuring the best rates, placements, and value for campaigns.
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with a focus on interpreting campaign performance data, creating reports, and providing actionable insights.
Digital Advertising Tools: Proficiency with major digital advertising platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, etc.) and media management tools (e.g., MediaOcean, Sizmek, etc.).
Project Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to oversee multiple campaigns simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
Creative Collaboration: Experience working with creative teams to ensure media placements are aligned with the brand’s visual and messaging standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Certifications in Google Ads, Facebook Blueprint, or other digital media platforms.
Experience with programmatic advertising and demand-side platforms (DSPs).
Familiarity with marketing automation and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
Experience with mobile advertising, OTT (Over-the-Top), and video advertising strategies.
