Job: Greenhouse Supervisor
Min Experience: 0-2Years
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Determines appropriate methods for mixing soil and other ingredients to prepare a
proper growth medium for greenhouse plant production.
2. Maintains proper environmental conditions required for the growth of plants used
in research and instructional programs.
3. Plans and supervises the cleaning of pots, sterilizing of soil, mixing of potting media,
and maintaining plant growth environments free of diseases and insects.

5. Assigns greenhouse space to research and/or instruction project leaders upon
request and when available.
6. Maintains inventory records.
7. Determines requirements and produces various types of plants for teaching and
research purposes.
8. Directs the repair and preventative maintenance of greenhouse and auxiliary
facilities and equipment.
9. Directs procedures involving grafting, site preparation, planting, irrigation, pruning,
weeding, fumigating, and
10. Insect and disease control.
11. Complete forms related to work as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a BSc in an appropriate
curriculum; and extensive, responsible experience in greenhouse management
including personnel supervision; or any equivalent combination of training and
experience.
Must be capable of passing the Environmental Protection Agency Pesticide
Application Examination.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques essential to
practical greenhouse management as related to institutional research and
instruction needs.
Thorough knowledge of potting media, techniques used in preparing such media,
optimum conditions for a variety of greenhouse plants, and an understanding of the
operation of plant growth chambers.
Thorough knowledge of greenhouse and auxiliary facilities to the point of being able
to manage such facilities and equipment efficiently and economically.
Ability to plan and direct operations essential to the maintenance of a greenhouse
complex, and direct skilled and unskilled employees in various greenhouse
management operations.
Ability to plan budgets and keep records essential to estimating needs for various
greenhouse production programs as well as ability to estimate cost of such programs
and make recommendations on supply and equipment orders.

A Greenhouse planner is expected to travel in and out of school chains across India.

**Salary**: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
