Cassandra Architect

**Description**:
**Are you passionate about managing and scaling distributed database systems? Do you have the expertise to optimize the performance and reliability of Apache Cassandra environments?**
We’re looking for an experienced Cassandra Architect to oversee and enhance our Cassandra clusters, ensuring high availability and exceptional performance. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, deployment, and maintenance of distributed Cassandra databases.

**What You'll Do**:
**Manage Cassandra Databases**: Install, configure, and manage Cassandra clusters to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability. Develop efficient data models and schemas aligned with best practices, implement robust security standards, and continuously monitor database environments.

**Design Efficient Data Models**: Collaborate with teams to create scalable and efficient data models. Define partitioning and indexing strategies to optimize performance, and conduct schema design for efficient data distribution and low-latency queries.

**Optimize Performance**: Tune indexing, caching, and queries to enhance performance. Monitor and optimize resource utilization during peak loads, and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks effectively.

**Ensure High Availability**: Implement multi-data-center replication and clustering for redundancy. Develop disaster recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and maintain high availability through effective replication setups.

**Monitor and Alert**: Use tools like Grafana and New Relic to track database health. Perform root-cause analyses for incidents, implement corrective actions, and ensure proactive database monitoring.

**What You’ll Need**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in Cassandra administration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Certifications in Cassandra or NoSQL databases are preferred.
- Expertise in Apache Cassandra setup, performance tuning, and issue resolution.
- Strong proficiency in CQL, data modeling, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with multi-data-center deployments and monitoring tools such as New Relic.
- Scripting knowledge (Python, Java, Ansible).
- Experience managing Cassandra in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, containerization tools (Docker/Kubernetes), and data streaming platforms (Kafka, Spark).
