Clinic Assistant job description
We are looking for a compassionate Clinic Assistant who will provide support to healthcare professionals in our clinic. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and performing basic administrative tasks. You will also be expected to assist with patient care by taking vitals, preparing exam rooms, and providing comfort and reassurance to patients.
Clinic Assistant duties and responsibilities
- Assist the physician in patient care and treatment procedures
- Take vital signs and record patient information
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits
- Ensure medical equipment is sterilized and in working order
- Assist with patient scheduling and appointment reminders
- Answer patient questions and concerns
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing and record-keeping
- Stock and maintain inventory of medical supplies and materials
- Assist with insurance and billing inquiries
- Perform other duties as assigned by the physician or supervisor
Clinic Assistant requirements and qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
- Completion of a medical assistant or nursing assistant program is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Ability to take vital signs and perform basic medical procedures such as administering injections and dressing wounds
- Understanding of infection control protocols and safety procedures
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
