Position Title: Machine Shop Supervisor

Department: Manufacturing

Reports To: Production Manager

Location: Thirumudivakkam, Chennai-44

**Summary**:
The Machine Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the machine shop, ensuring efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and a safe working environment. The supervisor will manage a team of machinists and coordinate with other departments to meet production goals.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Team Leadership**:
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of machinists to achieve production targets.

Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and ensure a cohesive working environment.

Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of the team.

**Production Oversight**:
Plan, organize, and prioritize machine shop activities to meet production schedules.

Monitor and evaluate production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.

Implement and maintain best practices for machining operations.

**Quality Assurance**:
Enforce and uphold quality control standards to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.

Implement and improve quality control processes, working closely with the quality assurance team.

**Equipment Maintenance**:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of machines and equipment in the machine shop.

Schedule regular maintenance checks and coordinate with the maintenance team for any necessary repairs.

**Safety Compliance**:
Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety awareness.

Investigate and address any safety incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

**Communication and Collaboration**:
Collaborate with other departments, such as production planning, engineering, and quality control, to optimize workflow and address issues.

Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other stakeholders.

**Performance Monitoring**:
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to machine shop productivity, efficiency, and quality.

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall performance.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a machine shop or manufacturing environment.

In-depth knowledge of machining processes and equipment.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to promoting a safe work environment.

Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.

Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

**Work Environment**:
The Machine Shop Supervisor will work in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and other typical industrial conditions.

**Salary**: From ₹15,000.00 per month
