Fire & Safety Officer

Urgently required Assistant Manager/Manager - Fire & Safety for a leading Indian MNC at Haldia,West Bengal Location.

Qualification: - Bachelor’s DegreeB.Tech in Fire

**Core Responsibilities**

1. Monitoring the Maintenance & Inspection of various firefighting & safety systems in the premises as per schedule like: Fire Extinguisher, Fixed Fire Hydrant system (i.e. Fire Hydrant, Hose Box, Hose Reel Hose, High Velocity & Medium Velocity Water Spray System), Manual Call Points, SCBA Sets, Fire Sand Buckets, Aerosol Fire Suppression system, Operation of Fire Pumps etc.

2. Carry out the Fire & Safety audit by third party (Licensed Agency) as required by WB govt. Fire Prevention & Life Safety Measures Act 2006 & Submitting the inspection report to the Director of WB Fire Services.

3. Maintaining the Stock of Fire Fighting & Safety equipment including PPE’s. Preparing the SOP's of Fire Safety. Prepare & maintain the documents as per ISO: 9001, ISO: 14001 & ISO : 45001

4. Imparting Fire Safety related trainings to new employee & contract employees, Permit towork system, Basic Fire & Fire-fighting techniques, Roles & responsibilities of Auxiliary Fire Squad, MSDS, EHS refresher, also conducting the trainings on 5’S system

5. Implement the 5’S system within department

6. Provide training to Firemen & other employee’s regarding firefighting systems & emergency procedures

7. Attending the Safety Committee meetings

8. Conducting the PPE survey to ensure proper compliance of PPE while working

9. Conducting the plant safety inspections with team members from different departments

10. Issuing the hot work, vessel entry, working at height and on fragile roof permits & monitoring the propercompliance of all work permits

11. Conducting mock drill as per schedule & conducting the table top exercise & submit the reportsto Director of Factories.

12. Preparing & updating the HIRA of EHS department & review the same of different departments with respect to fire safety.

13. Coordinating for internal & external IMS audits

14. Coordinating with WB Fire Department for legal compliances

Active participation in celebrating the National Safety week, Fire Service Day & WorldEnvironment Day and Fire Safety week.

**Job Type**: Regular / Permanent

**Salary**: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
