Key Responsibilities of a Pediatrician
1. Patient CareConduct physical exams to assess growth and development.Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses (e.g., infections, asthma, diabetes).
Provide preventive care, including vaccinations and routine check-ups.
Monitor and manage developmental milestones.
2. Health EducationCounsel parents and caregivers on nutrition, safety, and healthy lifestyle choices.
Provide guidance on child development, behavior, and emotional well-being.
3. Emergency and Critical CareAddress urgent health issues like injuries, respiratory distress, or high fever.Stabilize critically ill children and coordinate specialized care.
4. Coordination with SpecialistsRefer patients to pediatric subspecialists (e.g., cardiologists, neurologists) for complex conditions.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
5. Chronic Condition ManagementManage long-term conditions like congenital heart defects, epilepsy, or developmental disorders.
Skills Required
Strong communication and empathy to interact with children and families.Analytical skills for diagnosing health issues.Patience and adaptability to work with children of different age groups.
Education and TrainingMedical Degree
(MBBS/MD or equivalent).Residency in pediatrics.Optional subspecialty training (e.g., neonatology, pediatric oncology).
Pay: Up to ₹300,000.00 per month
